WESTLAND, Michigan –The U-17 Mid-Michigan Lakers are now 16-2 on the season after losing a thriller in the semifinals at the Michigan Warriors Jamfest in Metro Detroit. The Lakers fell 70-68 in overtime to Common Bond. JD Tisdale led the team with 24 points and Cullen Turczyn added 16.
Tisdale put the “Jam” in Jamfest in the quarterfinals, throwing down four dunks in a double-digit victory over Team Unity.
The Lakers were not at full strength this weekend, but managed to make a run out of it without forwards Rayshon Thomas and Kendrick Wallace. Stepping up in their absence was Dan Buschman and Shawn Brouwer, who both turned in arguably their best overall performances of the season at Jamfest.
