MT. PLEASANT, Michigan — The U-16 Mid-Michigan Lakers made serious strides in their first tournament of the 2011 season. After a heartbreaking loss at the buzzer to Team Basketball, the Lakers bounced back with a great second half come-from-behind victory over Camp Darryl.
Led by J.D. Tisdale and Zeshawn Parker-Jones, the victory earned the team a birth in the silver bracket finals. The Lakers came up short against ACB, but return home confident that their time is coming.
After losing their first two games of the tournament, the U-17 team came through in a big way against the Grand Rapids Vipers. The Lakers, led by Nathan Landsgaard and Bryant Walker, won by 25.
The U-15 lost its first three games of the season, but are showing signs of life behind the spirited play of Kelvin Weston and Marquavian Stephens.
