INK: Three Lakers mentioned in Bank Hoops feature

Three Lakers got a shout-out in a recent article published by Steve Bell on Here’s the rundown:

LANSING — ACB-Gold had too much offensive firepower for the Mid-Michigan Lakers in the Seniors-To-Be final of the ninth-annual Camp Darryl/ Classic, winning 91-63. But that wasn’t enough to overshadow the breakout tournament performance of Ahasuerus McDonald, the Lakers’ 5-foot-10 senior from Flint Northwestern. He averaged 24 points per game for the weekend, knocking down flurries of three-pointers while letting the shots come to him, and challenging and finishing over bigger players time and again. When the dust had settled, some where claiming McDonald, and not Powers’ Patrick Lucas-Perry or Northern’s Shaquille Smith, the best junior point guard in Flint….      

The Mid-Michigan Lakers’ other all-tournament selection was 6-4 junior Nathan Sauvola (Grand Blanc). The widebody will surprise you with his sweet outside shooting, and also hustled and produced inside against taller forwards. A name to remember from the Lakers’ frontcourt is 6-7 junior Fred Perkins (Burton Atherton), who is incredibly raw but is twice the player he was when the spring season began…
